Linkin Park released their fifth studio album, Living Things, on June 20, 2012. The album was released under Warner Bros. Records and Machine Shop Recordings. It first debuted in Japan, followed by a worldwide release the following week.
Living Things was produced by vocalist Mike Shinoda and Rick Rubin, who had previously worked on the band's albums Minutes To Midnight (2007) and A Thousand Suns (2010). This album marked the end of their collaboration with Rubin and was recorded at NRG Recording Studios.
